Disneyland Paris and La Village at Marne La Vallée

So, a few weeks ago, on December 23, (maybe that is a week ago, or ten days ago) I went to Disneyland Paris. I know it is for kids, but after all, I am just a big kid myself and I wanted to celebrate my birthday in a different way other than sitting on the couch. Yes, it was my birthday! And I wanted to honor myself. I wanted to say "Thank you, Marion! for all you do for me. Thank you for accepting me as I am and for taking care of me." Loving oneself is not always easy and for me, it really is something I have to do better at. Not that I am saying I don't love myself. Far from it. I can be as self-indulgent as the next person. But maybe I could go deeper. With acceptance of certain things.

Of course, I don't mind spending my birthday sitting on the couch. At all. I don't think there is anything wrong with that at all. I like to relax and veg on my birthday and have done exactly that for the last few years. But this year, I was a bit antsy. I wanted to go out. But where could I go that was not going to cost a truck load of money? If I had my way, I would have gone to the Hemingway Bar in Paris for a drink. That is one of my fantasies. But a drink at the Hemingway Bar is about $68 euros! So that was not for me this year. What alternative could there be? It had to be DISNEYLAND. I had never been to Disneyland even in America so it seemed like a good idea to check it out.

What a lovely excursion that was! And after, I stopped off at La Village for a little bit of window-shopping. I think it was as enjoyable a trip as if I had spent $100 bucks. It was one of the nicest birthdays I have ever had. I was scared to be so happy, in fact.

Check out the pictures below. Admittedly, some of my selfies are downright scary. Do excuse me in advance. :)
